Creative Dance Elements - RULES AND REGULATIONS
REGISTRATION FEE- An annual non-refundable registration fee of $45 per new student, $30 for returning students is due whenever you register your child. In January the fee drops to $25. Summer registration is $25.00.
MONTHLY TUITION- Tuition is due the first of every month. We base this fee on a 9 to 10 month dance year, and it is not prorated due to absence or holidays. I.e. there are no extra fees for more than 4 lessons in a month and there are no reductions for those months with only 3 lessons. A $20 late fee will be assessed after the 5th of each month for any account past due. Statements are not sent out monthly, so please make note of when fees are due, and also, check the bulletin board weekly for reminders! There is a $30 charge for all returned checks! There is a 5% discount on monthly tuition for the second child enrolled from the same family. Families with 3 or more children dancing receive a 10% discount off the second child.
RECITAL FEES An annual recital fee of $60 per student is due February 1st. Each student performing in the annual showcase must pay this non-refundable fee. It is to help with the cost of the auditorium rental, sounds, lights, programs, technicians, and all other costs.
RECITAL COSTUMES- Recital costumes will be ordered over the Winter/Holiday Break; a non-refundable deposit of $50 per costume is due November 1st, and the remaining balance is due December 15th. IF you have not paid your balance in full by the time of Winter Break, you will not have a costume ordered for your child, as there are no refunds allowed with the companies we order from. Please be aware you might be asked to purchase additional accessories such as tights, necklaces, or headpieces.
ABSENCES AND MAKE-UPS- We do not recommend missing class because the best way to develop as a dancer is for him or her to be in their appropriate class each and every time…but, we understand things come up. Make-up classes are available upon request; please contact the office and let them know of when and how you are planning to make up the class, so they can speak with the instructor. Make-ups are highly discouraged during the last few months before recital.
DROP OFF/PICK UP- Each student should be dropped off and picked up within 10 minutes of their selected dance classes. Please notify the office if you are going to be late for some reason. We are not staffed to supervise your children for extended amounts of time.
CLASS CANCELATION/WITHDRAWLS- Creative Dance Elements reserves the right to cancel any classes or reschedule due to insufficient enrollment. Any withdrawals must be presented in writing to the front office; until that is done, tuition payment is expected.
ATTIRE- Proper dance attire is important and will be enforced. It helps to show the basic features of the body and also shows correct placement that the teacher needs in order to make corrections to their students. It also portrays the correct discipline that is needed in each growing dancer. Please contact your instructor for their preferred class attire. Hair should be pulled back and completely out of the dance, and cover-ups should be worn whenever not in class.
PRIVATE LESSONS/CHOREOGRAPHY- Both are different depending on each teacher, and all are approved through the front office.
HOLIDAY CLOSINGS/WEATHER CLOSINGS- Creative Dance Elements will close for all major holidays in conjunction with the MISD school calendar. Closing dates will be posted as they arise. The studio also reserves the right to cancel class due to inclement weather. We will post on the website, and also on the voicemail, when the studio is going to close due to weather conditions.
LOST AND FOUND- Please make sure all shoes, dancewear, and bags are labeled. We will have a lost and found located in the front office. However, periodically, it will be taken to Goodwill; so, make a note to check there first, or contact the office. CDE is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
